Dakota is a dedicated and passionate educator with a diverse background in teaching and leadership. A proud alumnus of Teach For America, Dakota began his career in education by serving in Indianapolis, where he developed a deep commitment to educational equity and student success.
He holds a Master's in Teaching, which has equipped him with a strong foundation in pedagogy and curriculum development. Throughout his career, Dakota has not only excelled as a classroom teacher but also taken on pivotal roles as an instructional coach and lead teacher, where he mentored colleagues, facilitated professional development, and spearheaded initiatives to enhance instructional practices across his school.
Continuing his pursuit of academic excellence, Dakota earned a Master's in History from the University of Exeter, further enriching his content knowledge and passion for history. His unique blend of practical teaching experience and scholarly expertise makes him a dynamic and effective educator, dedicated to supporting and inspiring students to meet their highest personal and academic potential.

What to Expect During Your Tutoring Session
Academic Triage
At the start off each session, the student will present their current assignments and due dates to the tutor. Based on subject matter, due date, and duration of the session, assignments will be ordered from most urgent to least.
At this time, returned exams and assignments with low scores will be considered for skills review.
Focused Work Time
The tutor will work with the student to complete immediate assignments and take time to reteach or review essential skills.
Every completed assignment will be reviewed by the tutor.
If all work is completed before the session ends, the tutor will provide curated instruction for skills and concepts identified as areas of high need.
Review and Report
At the conclusion of each session, the tutor will review those essential concepts and skills identified during the session. Any notes or materials used in instruction will be given to the student to review.
A Session Report will be emailed to parents about the work done, suggestions for
at-home review, and any other comments about the session and student progress.
